Guard The Heart Carefully

If ever there was a time to be aware of the content of the mind, now is that time. Events have accelerated to such a degree that it is difficult to really know what will happen next. We have only to look into the immediate past to understand how events are slowly spiraling out of anyone's control.

There appears to be a penchant for hoarding and guarding that hoard. Why? What has set this into motion and made the average person so jealously protective of "one's own" and desirous of what others have? Has this activity happened due to an unwillingness to observe the heart? The content and process of one's own consciousness? Are we just too greedy? Do we simply want too much? More than what is good for us? Do we have any choice BUT to "live up to the Jones?"

What would it mean to truly live "an alternative lifestyle?" An alternative to what? The waste and preposterousness of war? The madness of running like animals in a maze? Why have we become so divorced from our Creator? Who is this anyway? Does He/She/It care? Why have we de-personified God?

A wise metaphysician once wrote, "God has every attribute of personality except its limitations." Wow. This means a living and breathing God, immanent in all respects, active, alert, and responsive. Few can fully comprehend the enormity of what this means. Can you?

So the days continue to play themselves out. People are living, being born, dying. What is changing amid all this? Are we learning anything? To quote a Beatle, "With every mistake, we must surely be learning!" Yes? Really? What? And, for what?! Really, where is it tending. Ah, there's the rub. Rub-a-dub-dub, three beings in a tub. Along came a spider and sat down beside her, and then all the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't braid Rapunzel's hair too much longer again.

Forgive the digression. This is the young one regurgitating patient misgivings for "Paradise Lost" and "Childhood's End." One day, one day... Thus said Zarathustra, Tiraeus, the Blind Prophet. Weila La Leia, Weila La La, Leialala...

Until we meet again.

A Manner of Speaking

All sorts of things are going on right now, and this is the duty of those of us who are on the precipice of a new revolution. To understand what the artist must create. Create in partnership with the intelligence and presence at the center of things. Revolution is an “evolution again.” Is it possible to make evolution conscious? For us as apparently the most conscious species on the planet earth, how could evolution be in a different direction? It is the mind that has to move forward, or, perhaps, it is the mind that must be submitted to something higher, which will then work with it, the personality, and the essence to transform into something different than what presently exists.

But what can change mean in this realm? Where can we go and how can we make the present exist in its entirety (its eternity). The entirety of the present is eternity. Somehow, this “now” of eternity and the present holds the key to all that we are, have been, and will become. The state of eternal transformation and change in the present, which sees us come onto this stage, live life after life, and then die, only to experience, again at the right time and place, a repeat until, finally, we catch on and can “get it right.” Getting it right means what? That is also a question to consider. It might have something to do with “living rightly,” or according to our given purpose.

This might be many different things. Room for speculation here, certainly, but also room for becoming the multitude of diversity we experience on the planet. Save room and space and time for this probe. What do we become? Are we at all aware that we are becoming? Aren’t we becoming the fabric of our consciousness? Aren’t we becoming our desires? Aren’t we learning? What are these desires, and where are they leading? We can see for many people it simply means the sphere of family, striving in a profession, and the limits imposed by the environment. There aren’t many who can move out of this, or who are working to create a way out of this in their consciousness. They have time for their world, which is the world of their choosing, consciously or unconsciously.

Can mankind evolve if its guiding force is self-interest? Hasn’t self-interest turned man into a predator? Where does self-interest end? Does it end? Is it the essence of fragmentation? Do we not have a world where people are preying upon people? Was this ever intended? Is there a way out?

Not to be pessimistic, of course. But to simply see the truth, to see what really is, what is really going on. Is seeing, in this light, also a matter of feeling? Is feeling a way of knowing? Of course it is. Is it a higher way of knowing, more immediate than thinking (the rational thought process, which, come to think of it, isn’t so rational after all, right?)

To do anything well, one needs energy. One dissipates energy when one is distracted. One creates energy when one is focused. What distracts us? Is it possible to be distracted when one is following one’s aim? What is an aim? A place to go now. Something to do. Work to accomplish. But, it has gotten so much more complicated than all of this, hasn’t it? Hasn’t the world of work been responsible for this? Is work to blame? How can work be to blame for anything? Afterall, it is just action. It is what surrounds action – the noun aspect of it – that is the problem: the one that not only does, but is, or assumes it is.

Here and Now

Here and now, again. The stars rise, and I am at peace with that. There is not time in a day to do everything that we need to get done. We are here, we come into this sphere for a purpose, and then we depart. And so what will we have learned? And where will we go with it? These are urgent questions, since what we do here and now may have long-lasting, far-reaching importance to the future of not only ourselves, but to the race, and the earth.

Does the here and now hold the keys to discovery and life itself? Does what we do in the here and now, THIS here and now, affect everything in one form or another? Isn't everything connected? Aren't we learning that? Over and over again? What is the choice that we see before us? To continue to live, or... die?

Concrete objects. Actual facts. Important, ongoing conflicts. The essence of drama. To compose a real script with movement as its meaning. And to become the only one any longer making sense to non-sense.

I think the purpose of writing is to discover truth, to clear the mind through the force of thought, and to communicate clarity and truth to others. It is also to entertain and to create. Discovery and creation are close cousins.

So, in writing, I'm looking to burn away the unnecessary and uncover or create the necessary communication. And words are, really, the most glorious tools, along with numbers, which serve a different but equal and necessary function.

Until the next entry, then. The light remains for everyone to use. Seek it, grasp it, and create using its source and intelligence.
